Solstice Gathering 2027 · Theme Camp
Lantern Hollow
Sponsored by Shrimp™
Where the lanterns are lit by everyone who carries one.
What is this, exactly
A camp that runs on many hands
Lantern Hollow is a forty-odd-person theme camp that turns a patch of dust into a glowing courtyard for five nights a year. We host a tea house, a lantern workshop, and the quietest sunrise on the playa.
Everyone who camps with us takes a role and a few shifts, and everyone gets to sit in the courtyard when their lantern is hung.
How we show up
Our Principles
Dignity
Every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
Participation
Communities thrive when people contribute within their capacity.
Stewardship
No one person should be responsible for carrying the whole community.
Communication
We strive to communicate honestly, directly, and in good faith.
How to be in it
How to carry a lantern
Pick a department and a role, sign up for shifts that fit your days, join a group or two, and bring something from the shared list. That is the whole system — the rest is showing up.
